Sometimes just listening to people talk about their dysfunctional families will inspire a song. ...the way they turn a phrase or colorfully describe a moment at the dinner table. It can be the most mundane moments that become a springboard for an idea. Mike Sattin (my partner in crime with power-pop band The Resonant Heads) and I wrote this together. It's always a fave for me to play live.
lyrics
Save it for your friends the bitter end could be soon
And I'd save you if I could it does no good to please you
I'm on file, in denial, left unriled at your wounds
I'm unstable at your table
Barely able to unglue
Have your little fun don't come undone 'till I do
And I say this as a friend
Your little trend could eat you
I'm on file, in denial, left unriled at your wounds
I'm unstable at your table
Barely able to unglue
And I should have sympathy
But you make it hard
You're so in style
Still I'm always out of fashion
I'm on file, in denial, left unriled at your wounds
I'm unstable at your table
Barely able to unglue
